Three Day Throwing Course 23rd 24th & 25th July 10am to 4pm

Whether you are new to throwing or wish to improve your technique, this is the ideal three-day course. Spaces are limited to six, so everyone will have a wheel and receive expert one to one tuition and guidance. You can keep the pieces that you are happy with and have them fired. There is a charge of £3 per kilo for this. For more advanced students who want to try porcelain you can buy a bag and have a go. Fresh coffee, tea and water will be available throughout the day. Bring along a packed lunch to keep you going, and an apron will also be handy. Spaces are limited, so don't delay. Cost £240 deposit of £50 secures your space

Three Day Giant sculpture course 30th 31st July & 1st Aug 10am to 4pm

Following the success of last years course I will be running another hand building course with the aim to build a large sculptural piece. This could be a garden object like water fountain , planter or garden stool. I will have lots of ideas here but you can bring along your own designs too. We can use a number of techniques finding the right one that is suitable for your piece. I have a range of clay suitable for outdoor use. Clay is sold by the bag and cost is from £25 a 12.5kg bag including firing. The course is limited to six participants. Tea coffee and cold water will be available throughout the day. Bring a packed lunch to keep you going. Cost is £240 and a £50 deposit secures your space.

One Day Introduction to Glaze making 17th Aug 1030am to 430pm

In this one day experimental workshop we will explore the raw materials used in glaze making. We will also make up our own glazes and see the effects of varying the ingredients to make changes to colour. The focus will be on high temperature glazes and there will be plenty of test pieces to experiment on. We will be testing on porcelain, toasted stoneware and white stoneware clay. The resulting tests will be displayed and posted on instagram.The course is limited to six. Fresh coffee, tea and water will be available throughout the day. New Course Paper Porcelain
22nd & 23rd Aug 10am to 4pm 31st Aug 1pm to 4pm

This is an exciting new course for 2019 run by Jenny Williamson. Jenny has a background in textiles and fashion and her experience influences her work in ceramics. The class will cover a range of techniques to make anything from small jewellery to cups and tea lights. we will also be experimenting with adding stains to the porcelain. This will be used to create patterns with artistic technique of Nerikomi - a form of Japanese agateware. There will be two days of building and an afternoon for finishing and glazing your work.
Spaces are limited, so don't delay. Cost includes a bag of paper porcelain all coloured stains glazes and firing £250 a deposit of £50 secures your space

Weekend and Weekly Courses

Weekday Courses

My ongoing ceramics courses run for 12 weeks and are two hours long. These run by the term and are very popular. The classes are small and friendly limited to 11 participants so everyone gets a bit of individual attention. A wide range of glazes and clays are available. Cost is £210 for the term with clay sold separately by the bag including firing and glazing Times Monday Evenings 730pm to 930pm Tuesday Morning 930am to 1130am Tuesday Afternoon 1230pm to 230pm Tuesday Evening 730pm to 930pm Wednesday Evening 730pm to 930pm Thursday Evening 730pm to 930pm All Full at the moment Please note that when you sign up for the ongoing courses you are committing to be there for the term. Classes cannot be transferred to other days to make up for times when you cannot attend. I also cannot issue refunds once the course has started.

Weekend Course - Throwing

The throwing classes are open to all levels and are a great way to make big improvements on your wheel ability. There are six wheels so spaces are limited and plenty of individual attention is guaranteed. The classes run throughout the year usually once a month. Times are from 1030am to 430pm and cost is £80 for a one day course. There is a £3 per kg charge for pieces that you wish to keep and get fired.

Weekend Course - Raku Firing

The raku process is fast and exciting. There is something very satisfying about seeing the glazes melt and the kiln opening with glowing bright orange pots then covering with leaves and sawdust. In the raku day classes you bring your own pieces to be fired. Times 1030am to 430pm cost for the day £80. Limited to seven participants

Directions to Studio 104 Alexandra Rd N10 2EX

The studio is off the main roads in a residential area in Muswell Hill next to the golf course and near the North Circular. It takes about ten minutes from the nearest bus stop to walk here. If driving there are usually spaces across from the house. I request that if you can to park here. Please do not block the driveway. If coming for the first time you will find, to the right of the house a gate. Follow the path around to the rear of the house and you will find the studio.

From Highgate Station catch bus 134 or 43 to Muswell Hill and get off at Wilton Rd stop on Colney Hatch Lane. Cross at the zebra crossing and follow Sydney Rd all the way to Oak Avenue. Turn right on to Oak Avenue then turn left at the top on to Alexandra Rd. 104 is about 200m down on your left

From Bounds Green Station catch bus 102 or 299 to Muswell Hill getting off at St Andrews Church. Cross here and take Windermere Rd to the end and turn left on to Grosvenor Rd. At the top of the road there is a barrier to prevent cars passing. You can either turn right down Forest Walk taking the footpath leading you on to Alexandra Rd, or continue down Wetherill Rd and turn right on Sydney Rd. From here follow directions above

From North Circular take junction for B550 signed Muswell Hill. Go in direction of Muswell hill then take second turn on left Hampden Rd. Follow all the way to the end then take a left on to Sydney Rd. At the end of Sydney Rd take a right on to Alexandra Rd and 104 is 300m along on the right.
